TOWARB is a darkfolk musical ensemble created in 2018, inspired by Alsatian and pagan legends. Each listening is an invitation to travel through the ages, tales, and legends of the deep forests of Alsace!

Tell us about Towarb’smusic? How many are you in the band?
TOWARB is a musical ensemble that emerged from the depths about ten years ago soon, this band brings together 5 specter named hake, trürikait, àngscht, isskàlt and wàldtrommler.
Towarb’s music is entirely dedicated to Alsatian culture and mythology in our quest for authenticity, we sing only in the Alsatian language. We are in perfect symbiosis with our traditions, our language, and our extremely rich mythology.
What does “Towarb” mean, and do it have a special meaning for you?
Towarb is a secret acronym, a pact that binds us together. This pact obliges us to pass on again and again for future generations, for those who will come after.
How long have you played this kind of music?
Since my hands can.
Do you make or play other kinds of music?
No, we are 100% focused on TOWARB
Have you done any collabs and would you like to share with whom?
We love and collaborate as much as possible with an artist from Strasbourg called IRIS CAPRICORN. We made several tracks and performed live together. She has an incredible voice.
Would you like to do more collabs?
Why not, it would be really good to mix our universe with that of a German or Scandinavian band, as long as they are legitimate and authentic. A collaboration with a metal band would also be really interesting … it’s an idea…
Do you have a favorite track yourself or maybe a band?
It’s a very difficult question, the hardest haha…
I have a lot of favorite tracks, one for every mood.
Where do you find your inspiration for your music?
We find inspiration in our immediate environment, we are lucky to have a living environment rich in history and mythology, we are also very lucky to have the mounts and the deep forests. Alsace is a land that has so many stories of occult and strange legends, ancient gods, very old pagan traditions still perpetuated.
I used to say that in Alsace, under every stone there is a legend.
Do you have any music education, or have you learned yourself?
We are self-taught, we like an instrument, we learn it… we have all started to play like that.
How many instruments can you play on in your band?
I would say 5 or 6 counting the different percussions.
Can it be hard to find time for the music when work and life in general comes in?
It’s mostly a matter of motivation and time.
Autumn and winter are good times for composition, but motivation is always there, no matter the paths we take
Do you have any other interest like sport, crafting or carving – maybe gaming?
Yes, obviously, I spend a lot of time in the forest, I watch, I listen, I sometimes go there at night to listen to the animals, my house is on the edge of the forest
What track or album means the most to you and why?
Another terribly difficult question, haha, I would say the band’s album try Yann La decouverte ou l’ignorance, and the music of the same name. it’s this music that awakened my consciousness.
Do you have other plans with music soon, maybe a new track or album?
Yes, we have just finished recording our new album, which will be released at the end of the year. Otherwise, we are releasing a single in a few days, it’s called DUNKEL
Can we see you on festivals or other LIVES concert this summer 26’
Yes, we have several concerts planned in the east of France and we will play at ARBOR PAGAN FEST in Switzerland at the end of August, a great festival
Do you have anything you want to share with us about your music in general?
I like to think that it’s not just music, that it goes beyond the rational and that there is something more powerful when everything aligns. I see our music as a journey from which we do not return, the same… a kind of journey to which I invite all readers.
